US Prestige Beauty Flat in 2019

Makeup slump impacts sector.

Split performances between makeup and skin care led to a flat US prestige beauty marketplace last year, according to The NPD Group. The Port Washington, NY group reported that US prestige beauty category generated sales of $18.8 billion with a 7% decline in makeup and a 5% gain in skin care. Fragrance posted a 2% gain and hair rose 16%.
